Discover Erin Blakemore; Writer & Social Media Mogul

 In Archives, Uncategorized

I have a new hero! Her name is Erin Blakemore. She’s a writer, entrepreneur, and self-proclaimed nerd from Cali, who resides currently in Boulder, CO.

In October 2010, HarperCollins published her first book titled The Heroine’s Bookshelf – a compilation of advice for the modern day woman via the works of female literary greats. Personally, I’ve always been an avid fan of Austen, Mitchell, and their stubborn, sassy heroines. Go ahead and scoff if you must, but Austen was daring and brilliant in her writing. She made a farce out of stale, societal traditions.

Blakemore takes her tongue n’ cheek masterful way of writing and intertwines a 21-century audience with the spirit and vivacity of these literary leading ladies.

Why has Blakemore so quickly and easily won my admiration? Well, I was assigned to write an article about her and The Heroine’s Bookshelf. From sampling her blog, which is saturated with satirical commentary and a juxtaposition of her rebellious and nerdy persona, I can tell that her priorities are honest and admirable; be yourself, don’t apologize for that, and don’t be afraid to poke fun at life every now and then. Sometimes, my snarky-ness gets me in trouble, I wonder if Blakemore has a similar experience (if she does then I like her that much more).

I can’t wait to purchase her book! I feel like the two of us would get along rather well if our paths ever crossed.

WOW! I’m flattered! You never know what a vanity Google will turn up…

Let me know if I can be of any help for the article. I’d love to see it when it’s done!

    Best,

    Erin

Haha. I wrote the article for a consulting/social media firm based in Denver. I work as a ghost writer for them. After doing all the research for the article, I got really pumped for the book and decided to post on my own social media cybersphere. I just got the book and will start it this week. The article is done. It makes me a little nervous : ), but I’d be happy to e-mail it to you.
