You Are What You Wear

For the holidays, I received a most generous gift; a large gift card to J.Crew. I adore this store and it’s preppy chicness. The problem I am now having is deciding what to purchase because there are too many items catching my eye. After spending an embarrassing long time browsing, it got me thinking about fashion and art. I’ve always possessed an odd affinity towards the fashion world. And now that I live in New York City, I find myself even more aware of how I dress. The thing is, people like to pigeon-hole ‘fashionistas’ into a stance of elitism and superficiality. But, when one breaks it down, fashion is truly just another form of art. It is an expression of who an individual is.

One can never have too many boot cut cords.

I love the new ’tissue t-shirt’ craze. It’s stylish, soft, and crazy comfy.

This sweater cardigan is climbing towards the top of my list, though it will gobble up most of the value on my gift card

This is very much a Stephanie item. In fact, hmm, I should check my closet before I click ‘buy.’

Skinny Chinos; Yes, please! I think I could rock these.

My gift card is definitely not going to cover these cuties, but a girl can dream.

I also had a dream in which I owned a pair of converse in every color imaginable. Haha.

If my fashionista opinion counts for anything, I say skinny chinos all the way. I am actually working on building a pair myself right now, so maybe I will post some progress…..

Your opinion definitely counts. You bring in the Brooklyn side : ) Hmmm, building your own chinos. I like the sounds of it.
