Dd 'alumnus' Ryan Homsey's NYU Graduate Composition Recital

 In Archives, Uncategorized

It’s always exciting to watch the progress and talent of dancers in their second careers. I interviewed Ryan back in February and featured his insight, humor, and dedication on Dd. He’s ‘disappeared’ since then, pouring his heart and soul into his Graduate Composition. On Saturday April 30th all of his hours of work will finally be shared with the rest of us.

The event is FREE and open to all; running from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Blackbox Theater in Pless Hall. (The address for the theater is 82 Washington Place, NY, NY).

“My recital includes choral recordings, scoring for video and theater, and live performances of new works including art songs for baritone/piano performed by Paul Speiser and John Spencer IV, a few string works performed by PUBLIQuartet and a new choral piece performed by NYU Steinhardt’s Vocal Performance Chorale!” – via Ryan Homsey

I’ll be there to cheer Ryan on . . . well, not actually cheering him on out loud, that would be rude. But, in my head I’ll be hooting and hollering. I heard a rumor about donuts and coffee after wards : )

Hey Dd folks! Thanks for all of your support. My master’s recital was a big hit. Stephanie and a former ballet artistic director of mine were there to cheer me on (and pleasantly haunt me from my past.) And afterward, as promised, two worlds collided with donuts from Dunkin and coffee from Starbucks! Recordings and video will be available soon on my website.
