I saw Wasteland last week and it is well deserving of a place on your netflix cue.  It follows Vik Muniz as he makes portraits of garbage pickers in Brazil out of their own materials.  He involves the subjects in the construction of their own portraits and it is a very beautiful process.  It made me think about the awesome power of art to transport, inform, and empower people to see the world in a new way–in this case, equally for viewer, Muniz, and the participating pickers/artists.
