Llorando – A peak into a Ballet MT rehearsal

 In Archives, Uncategorized

There are still several dancer profiles to come, but with less than a week before opening night, I’m fully immersed in rehearsals. I decided to share a bit of the process with my fellow Dd-ers. One of the pieces I’m performing is a solo choreographed by Ballet MT artistic director Sallyann Mulcahy. It’s an angst-filled, dramatic solo set to an acapella Spanish rendition of the Roy Orbison song Crying called Llorando. The solo requires me to dive down deep into myself and find something real . . . lose control a little bit. It’s not about the steps, but about the emotions of losing something so special that life without it, or him, is unimaginable. Here are a few rehearsal moments captured on camera by Ballet Montana dancer Robert Greer.

If you’re in the Helena, MT area next week then check out Ballet Montana at the Myrna Loy Theater on the 27th, 28th, and 29th at 8pm.
