The definition of an entrepreneur

 In Archives, Uncategorized

I didn’t even have to look for this article. It was literally delivered to me … in my e-mail inbox, via Linkedin. After reading it I felt inclined to share with my fellow Dders.

The article is from INC.; Titled “What’s an Entrepreneur? The Best Answer Ever,” the short read breaks down the profession that is truly the “American Dream” – entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship is the pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled. – Howard Stevenson, professor at Harvard Business School

The article is written by INC. editor Eric Schurenberg, and won’t take but 10 minutes of your day to read. The reason I am posting this is because I feel like many of you are entrepreneurs – isn’t that what draws you our own own little entrepreneural enterprise? We all have one big thing in common … our willingness to branch out and try new things. The incentives for following DIYdancer in the immediate future are still being defined, but the ultimate “pay-off” is in the future and the potential of what Dd can become.

I’ll leave you with these words for thought from Jon Burgstone, co-author of Breakthrough Entrepreneurship.

Every time you want to make any important decision, there are two possible courses of action. You can look at the array of choices that present themselves, pick the best available option and try to make it fit. Or, you can do what the true entrepreneur does: Figure out the best conceivable option and then make it available.

Here’s to looking to the future!
