Throwback Thursday: Peter Boal Circa 1983
In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, let’s take a gander at a familiar dance face, circa 1983. Peter Boal, yet another extraordinary performer of the men-in-tights ilk, danced first for New York City Ballet. Here he is as a member of the corps de ballet at 18 years old.

Boal would go on to move up the City Ballet ranks to soloist and principal in the next 6 years, with featured roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Ulysses Dove, William Forsythe, Peter Martins, Twyla Tharp and Christopher Wheeldon. He retired after an impressive 22 years with the company and is now the Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet.
