{ Dd } Short Short List 10/5 -10/11
All the recent dance coverage may seem concentrated on NYCB and Fall for Dance, but this fall season has so much more to offer. This week, we let our hair down to pursue contemporary performance spearheaded by women in the cities beyond the Big Apple…
1. Search Engine in Atlanta Contemporary’s Secret Garden
Lauri Stallings and glo, in conjunction with Tanz Farm, have created a 24/7 installation of movement and electronic sound on a man-made grassy hill (which will grow over the course of the 168 hour performative journey). Opening this Sunday evening, the experience will be the first iteration of an ambitious two-year project of continuous choreographic situations. Billed as “in-between space for collaboration, sensory journey and autonomous dreaming” audience members are encouraged to stop by, observe, and participate during the day or night!
