Why choose between uptown or downtown dance? This week there are performances at both ends of NYC worth riding the subway for…

1. Company SBB at Harlem Stage

In PATIEN(CE), award-winning choreographer Stefanie Batten Bland creates a dance installation that examines art’s relationship with space and time on both a personal and universal level. Made as a physical requiem to Batten Bland’s father Ed Bland, a contemporary jazz composer and filmmaker, and in collaboration with the futuristic jazz ensemble Burnt Sugar The Arkestra Chamber, this show warrants an evening uptown.
